The International Property Awards in London invited development companies to present their finest work. The judging committee was chaired by three members of the House of Lords who scrutinised hundreds of entries from regional and global developers. After careful consideration, Saraya Bandar Jissah emerged triumphant on the night, bagging the hotly contested International Property Award for ‘Best International Mixed-use Development’ for the upcoming luxurious Integrated Tourism Complex (ITC) currently under construction in Muscat.
Commenting on the prestigious award accolades, Sheikh Hamood bin Sultan Al Hosni, CEO of Saraya Bandar Jissah remarked, “Gaining recognition from the judging committee of the International Property Awards with a panel of over 80 experts gives us great pride. We are exhilarated to be acknowledged for our exemplary levels of quality, professionalism and innovation. We have proved ourselves on an international level and can now take our rightful place as leaders in the property market. We look forward to many more global recognitions and hold our position as the most sought after ITC in the Sultanate.”
The award and judging process was conducted in three steps. Firstly, in the National and regional judging sessions, a panel of expert judges from all over the world were allocated entries which matched their areas of expertise. The entries were judged against every criteria point for that category and given a rating of poor, average, good, very good, or excellent for each criteria point. Next, at the end of the awards year, all regional winners had their entries re-judged on basis to decide the International winners. Within each category, only one entry was awarded on international level. Finally, in the international judging session the panel of expert judges were re-assigned entries that matched their area of expertise. The process similar to the regional session of judging, had judges will refer to the original entry. The scores were then totalled and a percentage score was calculated for each entry. The final percentage score for the entry decided the winner of the International World’s Best award for that category.
Saraya Bandar Jissah faced stiff competition from Africa, Europe, Canada, the Caribbean, USA, Central & South America, the UK and Asia Pacific to find the world’s best development in each of the award categories. The international winners were also announced on the same evening, following the presentations of both the Arabian Property Awards and African Property Awards.
President of the International Property Awards, Stuart Shield, said, “Each and every one of the companies to win a coveted World’s Best award has displayed exemplary levels of quality, professionalism and innovation. Having proved their worth at country level, Saraya Bandar Jissah is now a set a new standard.”
