Saudi cancels plan to drug test students

The Saudi education ministry and the anti-drugs directorate have cancelled conducting drug tests on schoolchildren across the country due to the plans' high cost, Saudi Gazette has reported. It is highly unlikely that the ministry will run any drug tests on students this year, said ministry spokesman, Muhammad Al-Dakhini. "We don't see any need for running these tests on students and teachers because drug abuse is not rampant among Saudis, who are raised in a religious environment."
