Saudi education ministry launches electronic scholarship applications

The Saudi higher education ministry has launched the electronic registration process for Saudi students seeking to apply for scholarships to a number of Saudi private universities and colleges, Arab News has reported. The registration, which will remain open until August 8, will cover six private universities and 20 colleges specialising mainly in medical sciences and IT, the ministry said. Under the local scholarship program, the ministry will pay the university or college tuition fees at the annual rate of SR70,000 for medical and dentistry students; SR55,000 for medical sciences, pharmacology and nursing students; SR45,000 for engineering and computer students; and SR40,000 for public administration and law students.
