Saudi Ministry of Labor: 10 million employees in private sector

Number of Saudi male employees increased by 6 per cent, while the number of Saudi female employees rose by 4 per cent

Recent data issued by the Saudi Ministry of Labor showed that the number of Saudis working in the private sector increased to 1.55 million employees by the end of 2014, up by 83.1 per cent compared to 2013.

According to the ministry, by the end of 2014, the number of Saudi male employees increased by approximately 68,600, up by six per cent compared with 2013, while the number of Saudi female employees rose by 14,500 employees, up by four per cent compared to 2013.

The ministry said that the increase in the number of Saudis working in private sector enterprises has resulted in the Saudization ratio increasing to 15.48 per cent in 2014, compared with 15.15 per cent in 2013, reports Argaam.

With regard to foreign workers, the ministry revealed that the number of non-Saudi workers in private sector enterprises stood at approximately 8.47m workers by the end of 2014, an increase of 258,600 compared with 2013.
