Saudi schools closing doors to expat children over 8

The Saudi education ministry has instructed public schools across the kingdom to not accept expat children over the age of eight from the next academic year, Arab News has reported. Principals of some public schools said they believed the decision aims to ensure Saudi nationals are provided with quality education. "Over the last few years, we have noticed a large increase in the number of students at public schools, with class sizes last year ranging between 35 and 40 students," said Fahd Al-Muzail, principal at a public school in Jeddah.
