Saudi stops recruiting foreign lecturers on Arabic, Islamic studies

The Saudi higher education ministry has announced its decision to stop recruitment of foreign lecturers in specialisations such as the Arabic language and Shari'ah, as part of its efforts to provide employment opportunities to local talent, Arab News has reported, citing an unnamed source. "The ministry is also preparing a list of faculties in which foreign recruitment would not be required at all or for which minimal recruitment would be made," the source said.
