Sharjah Education Council approves distributing Horouf’s publications to the Emirate’s preschools

The Sharjah Education Council has approved the printed publications of Horouf, an imprint of Kalimat Group, to be used alongside the school curriculum in preschools and elementary schools in Sharjah. The print materials were distributed to all schools in Sharjah in a multiphase process, 264 printed versions of Horouf’s educational materials were distributed in 31 preschools in the emirate Sharjah. The council also approved distributing 18 versions of Horouf’s printed materials to 18 kindergartens in Sharjah to improve search and reading skills.

His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, last September launched an initiative to support education for students in Sharjah and to promote teaching and learning in Arabic by leveraging the latest technologies and creating a school environment that encourages creativity.

Horouf, provides printed books and electronic programs to support student’s learning in Arabic language using a fun, smart, and modern technology enabled method, to allow in both its printed and electronic versions, reach largest group of school students.

Aisha Saif, Secretary General of Sharjah Education Council and Head of the Executive Committee of the initiative said that the decision to distribute Horouf’s printed publications to government kindergartens in Sharjah was in line with the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah to support education in the Arabic language for students in Sharjah and as part of the council’s eagerness to deliver the information to students in an innovative way and to promote reading as a habit among children with the aim to further develop the educational system in the emirate of Sharjah .

She extended heartfelt thanks and appreciation to His Highness Ruler of Sharjah for this generous initiative, which reflects his care for the Arabic language and for building students’ capacity. She conveyed thanks to Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Founder and CEO of Kalimat, for her outstanding efforts in establishing Horouf, which has led to the production of a valuable collection of publications and programs for Arabic students and children. She further expressed her hope that the kindergartens administrations’ and teachers will effectively implement this groundbreaking initiative with the aim of achieving its noble core mission.

Tamer Said, Business Development Manager of Kalimat Group, expressed his pleasure at the Sharjah Education Council’s approval of using the printed publication of Horouf at preschools in Sharjah. He said this approval will help promote the use of Arabic language and improve the capabilities of the education system in Sharjah’s schools, as Horouf’s educational publications focus on stimulating students to think scientifically and access, interpret, and effectively use information.

He added, “Horouf’s educational publications contribute to preserving the Arabic language and work to instil a love of the Arabic language in the hearts of children by using simplified and modern educational methods. It comes in response to the necessity of using Arabic language in scientific and literary school curricula and will pave the way for the creation of a knowledge-based society and contribute to improving the outcomes of education.

Horouf’s educational publications are a modern and integrated educational system in Arabic language that target children. This first of its kind initiative in the Arab world aims to help build and develop capacity of students to cope with the requirements of future growth and prepare a new generation able to utilise modern technology.

Part of the Kalimat Publishing Group, Horouf Educational Publishing is an educational programme that aims to pioneer a fresh, fun, future oriented approach to Arabic Education.
