Standard Chartered expects Middle East growth

Peter Sands, the group chief executive of Standard Chartered has said the British lender expects to grow at a fast pace in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, despite the problems in the West, in particular Europe, The Star has reported. "When you look at the markets we are in, the opportunities to win market share and the development in the demand for financial services, there remains an opportunity to grow at pace because demand for financial services is growing rapidly," Sands said. "We continue to see opportunities to win market share and although economic activity has slowed down a bit, it's still growing at pace," he said.
