UAE cabinet approves federal draft law on compulsory education

The UAE cabinet has approved a federal draft law on compulsory education, replacing the existent law, Wam has reported. Under the new legislation, education is right to every citizen and the State undertakes to provide it free of charge in government schools and institutes to those who completed six years up to the end of education or 18 years whatever comes first. The previous law made education a must in the elementary level only.
