UAE private schools concerned over time off for teachers

The UAE education ministry has received complaints from some private schools over its decision to start the next school year on September 16, as staff members will be given an additional 15 days off in the beginning of the school year, Gulf Today has reported. As employees in the private education sector are entitled by law to a paid annual vacation of 30 days, it is not clear how the private schools will handle the increase in vacation days and whether or not the additional 15 days will be paid.
