UAE public schools need more teachers

Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) has said that public schools in the emirate are suffering from a shortage of teachers for music, art, health and physical education, Gulf News has reported. "There has been a disconnect between university preparatory programmes for teachers and school needs," said Vincent Ferrandino, P-12 executive director at Adec. "There is a lack of training courses to prepare education majors for the new positions at public schools. We hope this will change soon and that [would-be teachers] will soon possess the skill sets to take up these roles," he added.
