UAE sets up plan to combat diabetes

The UAE health ministry has launched a seven-point plan to reach people with high risk of developing diabetes to give them guidance to help avoid the affliction, Khaleej Times has reported. "For those who already suffer from the condition, we need to give them the right services and attention. It is essential to extend help to control their blood sugar so that they can lead reasonable lives without diabetes-related complications," said Dr Salah El Badawi, director of the national project for control of diabetes, and public health advisor at the ministry.
