UAE’s trade with Italy worth AED30 billion in 2014

European country is strategic partner of state and second-largest trading partner of Emirates

The size of trade exchange between the UAE and Italy amounted to AED30 billion (€6.2bn) in 2014, according to Minister of Economy Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri.

Al Mansouri stressed the importance of Italy as a strategic partner of the state and second-largest trading partner of the UAE among European countries.

The minister received Epourio Stillino, the Italian Ambassador to the UAE, in the presence of His Excellency Engineer Mohammed Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Economy for economic affairs.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance the joint economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, Al Bayan reports.

Al Mansouri points out that Italy is a distinctive destination for UAE investments, which entered in the various economic sectors and activities, including manufacturing and maintenance of aircraft, drilling for oil and natural gas, shipping and transportation, the aluminium and ceramic industries, and in the field of jewellery and gemstones.
