The Saudi Ministry of Labor revealed in its annual statistical bulletin for FY 2014 that the average monthly wage for Saudis in the private sector amounted to SAR4,973, compared with SAR1,157 for non-Saudis.
The figures released by the ministry showed that the average monthly salary for Saudi nationals in specialised professions – such as in the fields of science, technology and human resources – are the highest at an average of SAR9,921, compared with other professions.
This is followed by managers and business administrators with an average wage of SAR7,726, and then junior engineers with an average of SAR5,987.
The ministry’s statistics showed that agriculture, animal- and bird-husbandry, and fishing recorded the lowest average salary for Saudis at SAR3,202, reports UAE-based Aliqtisadi.
As for the expats, managers and business administrators recorded the highest average monthly wages at SAR3,455.
It is noteworthy that in November 2015, the Ministry of Labor extended the mandate of the Wage Protection System (WPS) to include nearly 5.596 million workers in 12,550 facilities of the private sector.
