World Bank plans to subsidise Egypt pharma exports

The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), a unit of the World Bank, has agreed to subsidise Egyptian pharmaceutical companies to help their products reach European and American markets, Daily News Egypt has reported. Companies are to receive a €10,000 subsidy in order to obtain the certifications needed to conform to international standards. The subsidy includes provisions to guarantee that the state obtains enough pharmaceutical projects to meet domestic needs, with the surplus for export.
