Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, recently hosted a technical seminar at its headquarters in Shuwaikh, for students from the American University of the Middle East (AUM). The visit by the students is aimed at offering them and overview of the company’s leading experience in telecommunications and networks.
Zain hosts seminars and student field trips regularly in line with its active Corporate Social Responsibility and Human Resources strategies that cater to the youth and education sectors. Such initiatives focus on the development of school and university students’ skills through a series of workshops, development programs, and informative seminars. Zain coordinates these activities with students of various age groups to further increase their knowledge of the telecom industry in Kuwait.
Nawal Bourisli, Zain’s Human Resources Director commented: “Through this seminar we were looking to provide students with rich information about how technical departments operate within a major telecom company, which is of real value given Zain’s experience as a leading organization in its field. The seminar was delivered by a number of Zain personnel from various technical departments who directly interacted with the students.”
Bourisli continued: “We are very pleased with our collaboration with public and private educational institutions where we further reinforce our position as a company that provides the best support for students who are about to enter business life, and additionally strengthen the relationship between the community and the company. Our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy is a solid one, and we are satisfied with the outcome of this seminar.”
The visiting students from AUM’s faculty of Engineering & Technology majored in Telecommunications and Network Technology, and were presented with a detailed explanatory session to Zain’s experiences from a technical perspective in areas of integrated network operations, operation support system and quality, value added services, and more.
