Drake and Scull International (DSI) has posted a 7% increase in net profit to Dhs44.5m for the second quarter of 2010, compared to the previous quarter. Revenue for the same period also rose 7% to Dhs411m. "DSI has maintained its margins, improved its revenues and bettered its collections in Q2, and our momentum of winning projects has also improved since the beginning of the year," chief financial officer, Osama Hamdan said. The engineering firm had won a number of projects across the region since the beginning of 2010, with a combined value of Dhs2.6bn, compared to Dhs1.5bn for the same period last year. DSI's backlog stands at Dhs4.8bn.
