Emaar plans to sell $2bn of Islamic bonds

Emaar Properties plans to sell as much as $2bn of Islamic bonds, its first in more than six years, Bloomberg has reported. The developer has hired HSBC Holdings, Royal Bank of Scotland Group and Standard Chartered to arrange the investor meetings and will issue subject to market conditions, the company said in a statement. Emaar last sold an Islamic bond in July 2004 when it issued $65m in five-notes.
