ADNOC Distribution has started its social media journey, with the launch of its Facebook and Twitter pages. The channels will post and respond in English and Arabic and will focus on the company’s B2C audiences: motorists and residents.
ADNOC Distribution is readying to launch later in the year its fully-fledged LinkedIn page, which will be the hub for its industry-related content, with Instagram and YouTube following in Q1 2016.
“The launch of our first social media channels reinforces ADNOC Distribution’s vision to be a consumer-focused company, reaching its customers wherever they are, though the platforms they mostly use,” said Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri, CEO of ADNOC Distribution.
He added: “There is a huge social media penetration in the UAE, with 80% of our population using these channels. There are more than 6 million Facebook users in the UAE, over 2.5 million use LinkedIn, and Twitter and Instagram are also very popular. We understand the massive marketing value of all of these channels, and we are now ready to be an active part of the social conversation.”
The newly launched social media channels (facebook.com/adnocdistribution and twitter.com/adnocdist) aim to position the brand in the centre of the community, providing timely updates and relevant advice on ADNOC Distribution products and services. With a sustained editorial and hashtag strategy, with content and messages that are customised for each platform, the channels will post a mixture of relevant updates, community programmes, promotions and initiatives.
Dhaheri said: “We will tell stories that are relevant to our people. We will focus on engagement and community interaction, and we’ll aim to position our brand even closer to the community. We will also encourage users to share their content with us. One way or the other, through our service stations or by providing gas to households, ADNOC Distribution is part of many people’s lives. We want to hear about what we mean to you.”
The launch of ADNOC Distribution’s Facebook and Twitter pages are important steps in the company’s digital and social media strategy. Earlier in the year, the company re-launched its consumer-focused website and launched its mobile application.
