Advertising spend on radio rises sharply

According to data from the Pan Arab Research Centre, advertising spend on radio has nearly doubled during the first three months of the year, compared with the same period last year, Gulf News has reported. Lower ad rates on the radio prompted advertisers to consider more seriously the lower cost media options available to them and their clients. "As advertising spending took a nosedive during 2009 and started to recover cautiously only this year, low-cost vehicles were clearly in focus," Shaharyar Umar of Parc said.
