Facebook sued for intercepting private messages

A class-action lawsuit filed in a US federal court has accused Facebook of intercepting private messages of its users to provide data to marketers, PC World has reported. According to the complaint, the social networking firm scanned plaintiffs’ private messages containing URLs and searched the website identified in the URL for “purposes including, but not limited to, data mining and user profiling.” Facebook said it “the allegations are without merit and we will defend ourselves vigorously.”
