Festival of Media MENA: What to expect

The day-long event starts with a conference set to be held at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi hotel, followed by a celebration of the best regional media work

The regional edition of Festival of Media, a celebration of the best in the world of advertising, media and marketing, is returning bigger and better in its second edition.

The day-long event starts with a conference set to be held at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi hotel. The festival brings top-level executives from the world’s biggest brands, media and marketing agencies – the iconic minds moving the industry forward beyond country borders.

“We are extremely excited to be hosting the ninth edition of the Festival of Media and the second edition of its presence in the MENA region here in Dubai. We’ve seen some great work being entered this year and there are compelling insights from our guest speakers to be shared with the advertising and marketing professionals,” Alexandre Hawari, co-CEO of Mediaquest, said.

Mediaquest is the parent company of AMEinfo and the organiser of Festival of Media MENA, in partnership with the Middle East Marketing Association, CMO Asia, ATL Media, Dubai Media Incorporated, MBC Group, Ipsos and Mindshare, among others.

The conference features an impressive line-up of regional and international speakers, from the likes of Google, Facebook, YouTube, Omnicom Media Group and GroupM, among others, to contribute to the knowledge-sharing hub.

Keynote speeches and panel discussions promise to tackle key critical topics and issues relevant to the industry, not only from the region but also the world.

The evening following the conference will glamorously celebrate the best media work in the region.

“I created the Festival of Media concept back in 2007 to establish a platform that encourages talent to compete in the creative marketing fields and to enable the MENA region to be recognised globally for its outstanding contribution to the fields of marketing, advertising and digital,” Charlie Crowe, chairman and editor-in-chief of C Squared, said.

“I am extremely excited to see what this year offers in terms of industry research, insights and creative communication campaigns,” he added.

Festival of Media is annually held at different times around the year in Singapore, Italy, Miami and the UAE.

Survival of the fittest

Given the region’s entrepreneurial spirit and to provide a new platform to encourage fresh ideas, Festival of media is introducing Emerge, a dedicated space where ten start-ups will battle it out to win the attention of five judges in just 90 seconds.
