Global ad spending up 3.1%

According to a new report by Nielsen, global as spending in the first quarter rose 3.1% to $128bn, with the Middle East and Africa recording the biggest rise, as advertisers turned to budding and stabilising economies. Spending in the region was up 23.3%, and Egypt was the most active market achieving spend growth of 67% during the quarter, following last year's Arab Spring, the report said.
