HypeAuditor has analyzed Instagram influencers from the Emirates and came to a conclusion, that more than half of influencers in the United Arabic Emirates use artificial methods of Instagram growth, including buying followers, likes and inauthentic comments.
Instagram is one of the most popular social networks worldwide. As of June 2018, it has reached 1 billion monthly active users. The largest number of active users comes from the USA – 110 million, while the Emirates has 3.27 million users.
Influencer marketing has grown dramatically over the last few years and is now mainstream, next year it can potentially become a $2.3 billion industry. Most Brands compensate influencers for sponsored posts based on the number of followers the influencers have. Not surprisingly, many influencers have pursued a quicker way to riches by buying followers and trying to increase their appeal to brands.

16% influencers in the Emirates use automatic Follow/Unfollow spam tricks.
“Over 20% of Instagram influencers artificially inflate their comments. That is why most comments look unauthentic and ‘spammy’ and about 8% use comment pods. Comment pods or Instagram pods are a group of Instagrammers who work together to enhance the engagement on their posts.
