Syrian-American investor buys 20% stake in As-safir

Talal Salman, the publisher and editor-in-chief of As-safir newspaper, has announced that prominent Syrian-American businessman Jamal Daniel bought a 20% stake in the Arabic language daily newspaper, The Daily Star has reported. Salman, who founded As-safir 37 years ago, declined to disclose the amount of money paid for the stake in the paper, and asserted that the policy of the newspaper will not change after the acquisition.
