What Bitcoin? Which alt-coins will feature in crypto-mania 2021?

We did the research and here we share with you what the experts say about which alt-coin could have a stellar 2021

“I believe the utility of VeChain is huge. I fully expect supply chain tracking to be the most used niche in blockchain" Monero’s privacy tech is unrivaled and has the highest liquidity among other privacy coins Ethereum is still the largest blockchain when it comes to dApps and smart contracts, as well as the DeFi sector

Sure Bitcoin is making the headlines, losing and gaining thousands of dollars overnight.

The cryptocurrency sector has seen massive growth, breaching $1 trillion in total market cap.

But the real story could be alt-coins in 2021.

We did the research and here we share with you what the experts say about which alt-coin could have a stellar 2021.

Data compiled by CoinDesk Research shows that alt-coin assets were still far from their highest prices on record. One possible implication is that these tokens may still have the potential to reach higher price levels amid the latest Bitcoin bull run.

Expert No.1

Crypto trader Ben Armstrong revealed his top 7 altcoin picks, in reverse order, that he says have the potential to generate 20x gains this year.

7- Basic Attention Token (BAT)

The Ethereum-based crypto asset of the privacy-centric browser, Brave, has significant growth potential, he says.

“When it comes to utility, no project gets more usage than BAT. This is the token of the most used product in cryptocurrency, the Brave browser.”

6- SAND

It is the utility token of the virtual gaming world, The Sandbox.

“I believe The Sandbox game is going to be the biggest thing to hit crypto gaming ever. This interactive land is going to bring the crypto community to life.”

5- Elrond (EGLD)

It is a protocol that aims to offer extremely fast transaction speeds to existing blockchains via sharding.

“It’s as big as any project out there. The amount of partnerships and connections Elrond is working on is massive … we’re looking at Elrond to 50x from here, giving it a price of $427.80.”

4- Band Protocol (BAND)

It is a cross-chain data oracle platform competing for market share in the decentralized oracle space.

“With a high of $17.67 and a current price of $7.14, the opportunity is obvious. If it were to 20x the all-time high, we’d be looking at almost a $355 price per token.”

3- Cosmos (ATOM)

It is a protocol that enables the transfer of data between different blockchains.

“Cosmos is the bridge builder to get all of these many decentralized economies working together. A 20x from ATOM’s all-time high of $31.59 would take the coin to $632.”

2- Digital Cash (DASH)

“This digital payment solution with a private send feature is the fastest of all cryptocurrencies near the top, and any speed difference from smaller projects is negligible.”

Armstrong says the project’s huge scope and its relatively small circulating supply of 10 million make the coin a solid candidate to 20x from its all-time high of $1,532.

1- VeChain (VET)

It is a supply chain management protocol.

“I believe the utility of VeChain is huge. I fully expect supply chain tracking to be the most used niche in blockchain over the next year.”

Armstrong believes that a 20x from its all-time high of $0.026 is a conservative target as he expects VET to be valued at $2.00 per coin.

Coin Bureau predictions

‏‏‏‏‏‏‏‏The host of Coin Bureau, a pseudonymous analyst, revealed his top 5 altcoins picks for 2021.

He expects a smaller number of altcoins to experience exponential gains in the year ahead.

1- Monero (XMR)

The privacy-centric coin has had powerful enforcement agencies trying to decode Monero’s cryptography, to no avail.

“Monero’s privacy tech is unrivaled and has the highest liquidity among other privacy coins, although exchanges face pressure for servicing privacy coins,” he said.

2- Algorand Network (ALGO)

He spotlights the recent integration of USD Coin (USDC) into the Algorand Network.

“This means USDC users will be able to send the stablecoin on the Algorand Network cheaper and faster than would be done on Ethereum, for example. It’s also no secret that USDC is becoming the de facto stablecoin globally. Visa is offering USDC settlement to all its 60 million merchants,” he said.

3- Theta

It is a project aiming to transform streaming and online content delivery into a decentralized and democratic infrastructure.

“Firstly, streaming itself is really hot. You need to look no further than YouTube and Twitch with billions of users. These are all on centralized platforms and use centralized content delivery networks. You can see why Theta is appealing here,” he said.

4- Injective Protocol (INJ)

“Quite simply, it will allow users to trade spot, swaps, and futures in a completely permissionless way. They’ll also be able to structure their own derivatives on the platform and create a market for it,” he said, adding INJ has an edge over Ethereum-based assets as it is a layer-two Cosmos zone which means the protocol won’t have to deal with network congestion.

5- BarnBridge (BOND)

It is a project that seeks to tokenize risk.

“Essentially it works by pooling funds on the platform and then allocating these funds to different DeFi protocols. Once the funds have been pulled, they will tranche the yield such that it can be tokenized individually. This, therefore means that DeFi investors are able to invest in different risk tranches based on their yield and risk tolerance,” he said.

What about Ethereum?

Despite the fact that Ethereum has not yet reached its 2018 all-time-high, it is still considered a good investment for long-term investors. The ETH price did climb above $1,000 recently reaching $1,346 on January 3, 2021. Ethereum is still the largest blockchain when it comes to dApps and smart contracts, as well as the DeFi sector.
