Everyone should fly first-class at least once in their lives, but especially if travelling for business. If you or one of your employees is having to take a long-haul flight to somewhere such as the United Arab Emirates, then it’d be more than worth the money to consider the upgrade.
Dubai holidays are a luxury in themselves, but if you’re flying with an airline such as Emirates and you’re only going to be there for business, then you may as well experience a taste of luxury on the flight at least. Plus, nobody does first-class like Emirates, so now is the perfect opportunity to see why. Here are just five reasons why you should be flying first-class when travelling for business to the UAE.
1. It’s a stress-free experience
Travelling for business can be stressful enough, so the last thing you need to be dealing with is crowds, queues and working out the logistics of getting to and from the airport. You can take all that away by flying first-class, where you can get chauffeur-driven from your home to the airport, then onward to your destination in the UAE. You’ll get priority boarding and even access to the first-class lounge at the airport before your flight – the perfect place to make any last-minute business calls.
2. You get all the space and comfort you need
There can be nothing worse than arriving at your destination after a long flight, feeling exhausted, achy and in need of both a good sleep and a good freshen-up. You can perhaps deal with it if you’re off to sun yourself by the pool for a week, but not if you’re heading straight from the airport into a client meeting. Flying first-class means you can take advantage of your own suite, with a huge seat that offers plenty of leg room and folds into a flat bed. You get your own big screen for entertainment, noise cancelling headphones for peace and quiet and, with Emirates, bathrooms with showers, towels and toiletries. So, you’ll feel perfectly refreshed and rested when you arrive.
3. The food and drink options are great
When onboard, there’ll be no waiting around, trying to get the attention of a flight attendant, just to get a plastic cup of water. In first-class, you’ll be waited on hand and foot, with proper cups of coffee, fresh juice, or anything you’d like for your journey. You’ll often have your own minibar with snacks and drinks that 'magically' get replenished when you get up for a quick trip to the washroom.
4. You can get some work done
Depending on the time of your flight, you may wish to use your time to rest and adjust to the different time zones, or you may want (or need) to crack on with some work. With all the space you have in first-class, you’ll have no issues setting up your laptop and working on anything you need to get done. You’ll likely have access to Wi-Fi, too, so you can sift through some emails if you so wish.
5. All the added bonuses
Apart from the fact it’s stress-free, restful and there’s nothing stopping you from being able to work on your upcoming presentation at 35,000 feet, it’s all the added extras that make travelling first-class such an enjoyable experience, such as pamper kits and often massage chairs. Some flights even have little sniff boxes to help you either sleep or focus. It also helps that the cabin crew are always excellent and will go out of their way to make sure you're properly served.
So why not consider travelling first-class for your next trip? It’s often more affordable than you think, thanks to points and air miles you can collect. But then again, if the company is paying, take every opportunity you can to arrive rested, revitalised and ready for business.
