Abu Dhabi cracks down on school canteens

Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has said it has brought three cases and issued 150 warnings to school canteens during the first term of the academic year, Gulf News has reported. "School canteens are of special concern for us as they cater to the young pupils," said Ahmad Abdul Karim Al Sharaf, acting director of communication and community service at ADFCA. "Apart from inspecting the food safety situation at the canteens, the inspectors also check if food items not allowed in the canteens are sold on the sly," he said.
