Alara Resources raises copper resource at Saudi project

Australian mining firm Alara Resources has said it has increased by 30% to 8.53 million tonnes at 0.64% copper the Measured and Indicated Copper Resource at its Khnaiguiyah Zinc-Copper Project in Saudi Arabia. The resource upgrade is the result of more than 93 additional drill holes in 'Zone 2' of the project and several thousand metres of new drilling in 'Zone 1' since the cut-off date (November 22, 2011) for determination of the maiden Resource announced in February 21, 2012. This increased throughput is likely to result in an increased annualised production profile to about 80,000 tonnes of zinc and 6,000 tonnes of copper, the company said.
