Asda opens Abu Dhabi store

UK-based supermarket chain, Asda has launched its first George fashion store in the Middle East, as it set its sights on the £90bn clothes market. The 5,000 sq ft pilot store at the Al Wahda Mall in Abu Dhabi would give the company a 'significant platform for growth' in the area, with another store in Amman, Jordan set to open later this year, Asda said. The Abu Dhabi store, which is run by Asda's franchise partner Azadea Group, will sell the same womenswear and childrenswear ranges it offers in the UK targeting local, expats and tourist shoppers.
