Building materials prices to go 5% up

Danube Building Materials FZCO said that prices of building materials will rise by approximately 5% during the 3rd quarter due to record oil prices, rising freight overheads and strong demand in the GCC. Steel has hit steep prices, which has doubled since January at $700 per ton and reaching $1,500 per ton in July. Wood products such as timber and film-faced plywood have also gone up by at least 25% during the past three months.
