Centamin says may resume Egypt operations

Gold miner Centamin has said it may resume its operation in Egypt's Sukari mine, as the Egyptian General Petroleum Corp (EGPC) is likely to resume the fuel supply needed for the company's operation, Ahram has reported. EGPC said that there was no retrospective payment currently due on the company, Centamin said. On Thursday, media reports said that EGPC had demanded Centamin should pay almost EGP403m ($65.3m) for fuel subsidies dating from between December 2009 and January 2012.The gold producer said the EGPC's claim was illegal and arbitrary.
