Colm Mclaughlin, executive vice chairman of Dubai Duty Free has said sales in 2013 are expected to hit Dhs6.6bn ($1.79bn) after the opening of Concourse A on January 2 at Dubai International Airport, Gulf News has reported. The world's largest single-operation travel retailer is aiming for sales just under Dhs5.9bn by the end of the year, said Mclaughlin. This year, Chinese passengers going through Dubai International Airport are driving Duty Free sales, he said. Chinese passengers make up for 4% of airport traffic but account for 18% of sales, he added.
