Dubai launches Consumer-Friendliness Index

Dubai's Department of Economic Development (DED) has announced the launch of an initiative that aims to enhance business competitiveness and the quality of services provided to consumers, Gulf News has reported. The Consumer-Friendliness Index focuses on the business segments including automotive, electronics and hypermarkets, which account for 60% of consumer spending in Dubai. It measures customer satisfaction, which has a 60% weighting, complaints reported against firms, which has a 20% bearing on the ranking, and price evaluation, which also has a 20% say in the assessment.
