Dubai private schools free to pass or fail pupils

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has said private schools in Dubai have a free hand in the decision to either promote or detain pupils, Gulf News has reported. Referring to a guideline by the education ministry, which advises schools not to detain pupils up to Grade 3, KHDA's executive director of customer relations, Abdul Rahman Nasser, said that the guideline is only applicable for government schools.
