Dubai to boost health conditions in food outlets

Dubai municipality has said it would intensify its inspections of restaurants and cafeterias in the old areas of Dubai, as part of the authority's move to maintain the public's health, Gulf News has reported. The health and safety initiative would focus on shops that are reluctant to adhere to the suggestions of food control inspectors, and do not apply the information they learned in different training courses organised by concerned authorities, said Khalid Mohammad Sharif Al Awadhi, director of the food control department at the municipality. "As part of the programme, we will first identify the food establishments that cater to a large segment of consumers and then invite their health supervisors to attend the workshop to analyse their serious mistakes," he said.
