Dubai to impose fines for safety violations

Warehouses and factories in Dubai who violate safety standards will be fined Dhs50,000 ($13,623) under a new 'Safety Comes First' campaign launched by Dubai Civil Defence, reported Khaleej Times. Following the imposition of fines, violators will be issued directives to rectify the mistake within a given time frame, failing which, their licences will be suspended. Under the campaign, helicopters will be used to monitor open warehouses and factories.
