Egypt bans cement export

Egypt's trade and industry ministry said it will ban cement exports from March 29 until October 1 as part of measures to 'control the markets' cited Reuters. The ministry said booming local construction sector in Egypt has set the temporary ban to address increased needs during the summer. About 13 licences for greenfield cement operations and factory expansions have been granted by the government in October, and another one in January.
