Egyptian Fertiliser stops production lines on gas supply problems

Egyptian Fertiliser Co, a subsidiary of Egyptian group Orascom Construction Industries, has stopped two fertiliser production lines due to gas supply problems, Reuters has reported. The company's two lines together produce about 1.3 million tonnes of urea per year, investment bank EFG Hermes said in a research note. Production should be restored to previous levels within seven days, the company said.
