GIB posts 15% rise in net income

GIB posts 15% rise in net income

Bahrain's Gulf International Bank (GIB) has posted a 15% increase in net profit for the nine months ended September 30 to $97m, compared with the same period last year. Net income after tax in the third quarter jumped to $39m from $22.2m last year, GIB said. During the third quarter, loans and advances increased by $411m, or 6%, while total assets climbed 7% to $17.9bn, over the 2011 year-end level, the lender said.
