Health ministry orders Sharjah hospital to reopen

The UAE health ministry has approved the reopening of Sharjah's Central Private Hospital after its management agreed to employ more staff and buy more equipment, The National has reported. The 60-bed hospital was ordered to close last week after inspectors found it had too few doctors and nurses and inadequate medical equipment. "The hospital has already provided proof of its commitment to carry out the necessary changes, including [purchasing] the required medical equipment, which it bought from the Arab health exhibition currently ongoing in Dubai," said Sheikh Mohammed bin Saqr Al Qassimi, assistant undersecretary at the ministry and director of Sharjah Health Zone.
