Iran's National Petrochemical Co (NPC) has announced said newly opened plants would boost petrochemical production by 12 million tonnes by the end of spring next year (June 20, 2013), Mehr news has reported. The country's Kavian Petrochemical Plant and the West Ethylene Pipeline, in the southern port city of Assalouyeh, were inaugurated on Saturday. The Kavian Petrochemical Plant will increase the country's petrochemical production capacity by one million tonne to 56.6 million tonnes, while West Ethylene Pipeline, which extends 1,200 km from Assalouyeh in the south to Kermanshah in the west, will feed 13 petrochemical complexes, said NPC Managing Director Abdolhossein Bayat.
