Lafarge uses pistachio shells as alternative fuel in Jordan plant

The Jordanian subsidiary of French cement maker Lafarge has announced it was using 24 tonnes of pistachio shells as alternative fuel, Jordan Times has reported. The director of the Rashadia Cement Plant, Hashem Adaileh said the move was in line with Lafarge's plan to search for alternative fuel sources, in light of the increase in the prices of traditional fuel, as well as mitigating the plant's impact on the environment.
