Qatari university inks deals to promote French language

Qatar's Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has signed two memorandums of understanding and an agreement aimed at promoting the French language to its graduate students and to the citizens of the country, the Peninsula has reported. The agreements with the Institut Français and Sorbonne Nouvelle University Paris – 3's École Supérieure d'Interprètes et de Traducteurs (ESIT) aim to build the linguistic and cultural capacity from within and build a calibre of professionals and researchers in the fields of translation and interpreting, the university said.
