The Saudi health ministry is set to make it mandatory for expatriates to obtain health insurance coverage for their dependents, Arab News has reported. "Preparations for this scheme are under way in collaboration with the Directorate of Passports. It will be in place soon," a source at the ministry was quoted as saying. Insurance subscriptions will be necessary to obtain or renew the iqamas of the family members, said the source.
