Saudi industrial sector seen to represent 24% of GDP by 2020

Abdulla Al Zamil, the CEO of Saudi-based Zamil Industrial Investment Co, has said the country's industrial sector is expected to grow to 24% of the gross domestic product (GDP) by 2020, Saudi Gazette has reported. Currently, the sector contributes some 13% of the kingdom's GDP, of which 65% is industrial manufacturing, he said in his keynote speech at the four-day second Middle East Maintenance Conference and Exhibition (MaintCon 2012) in Manama.
