StanChart to consider establishing Islamic banking operations in Oman

Standard Chartered has opened its third branch in Oman and said it is studying setting up Islamic banking operations in the sultanate, Muscat Daily has reported. "Islamic banking is definitely a new concept," Standard Chartered chief executive Lamin Kemba Manjang, told the daily. "We will look into the opportunity in the Oman market and take a decision in the due course of time," said Manjang.
