ADAC plans new $2.94bn airport terminal

Abu Dhabi Airport Co (Adac) has launched a Dhs10.8bn ($2.94bn) project to build a new large terminal, as part of a plan to boost capacity to up to 40 million passengers in 2017, Emirates 24-7 has reported. The project is scheduled for completion in 2016, but will be commissioned in 2017 after a six-month test period to ensure its preparedness. "After the completion of this project, we expect the airport's capacity to rise to between 30 and 40 million passengers," said chairman of Adac, Ali al Mansoori.
