Experts have said the recent political developments in neighbouring countries are affecting passengers and goods transported by roads from Saudi Arabia to Yemen, Egypt and Syria, Arab News has reported. Saeed Al-Bassami, deputy chairman of the Transport Committee at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) said the road transport sector in the kingdom lost around SR2bn, while the market volume of travel between the kingdom and neighbouring countries is estimated at SR5bn.
