Ashghal launches work on Lusail Expressway

Qatar's Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has said it will start work on the first phase of Lusail Expressway project, which stretches from the Pearl Roundabout to Golf Club Roundabout, from November 17, 2012, Gulf Times has reported. The project involves closing and demolishing the existing North Canal Crossing bridge, construction of a Light Rail Tunnel and a new North Canal Crossing bridge in two stages. The entire Lusail Expressway programme involves the reconstruction and upgrading of the existing Lusail Road from south of Al Wahda Street to the North Canal Crossing totalling around 5.3km in length.
